Q:What Is FBA?
A:FBA=Fulfillment by Amazon. That means Amazon allows sellers to send their inventory to Amazon’s fulfillment centers where Amazon will handle picking, packing, shipping, customer service and returns. FBA products are eligible for Prime free 2-day shipping as well as free shipping on eligible orders. According to Amazon, the company now operates more than 75 fulfillment centers and 25 sortation centers across North America and each of them gets their own warehouse code; the code format is 3 letters with 1 number such as ONT8, FTW1, etc.
Q:FBA Shipment ID & Reference ID
A:An Amazon Shipment/Reference ID is a set of unique number used by Amazon.com to identify Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) shipments when they arrive at a warehouse. The ID can be found on the Amazon Seller Central website after creating a shipment. The ship-to Amazon warehouse code also can be found together with Amazon Shipment/Reference ID at the same page.
Q:What Is Amazon’s Project Dragonboat?
A:Amazon launched the project “Dragon Boat” in early 2016 and Amazon acts as freight forwarder to provide end-to-end global logistics services. If Amazon sellers elect to participate in the project and create a shipment of inventory to Amazon, Amazon will assign all units of a specific product/ASIN for that shipment to the same Amazon fulfillment center.
Q:Differences Between FBA Transportation Import Clearance And Traditional Foreign
A:FBA sellers (called as cross-border E-commerce group) usually haven’t got a real shipper and consignee at both port of origin and destination, meanwhile, Amazon clearly indicates that they will not act as a consignee to assist sellers in import customs clearance. Therefore, the shipper and consignee issue in customs clearance will be solved by the freight forwarder. Considering about the cost and operation difficulties, co-loaders prefer to combine consol shipments into one shipment for customs clearance instead of traditional LCL clearance, this kind of operation is also called double clearance mode. This mode has its own pros and cons, but there is no doubt that it’s the most suitable logistics method for cross-border e-commerce till this moment.
Q:FBA Prohibited Products
A:Sellers participating in Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) must comply with Amazon’s restricted products policy and FBA-specific product restrictions. The following products are prohibited from FBA:
Alcoholic beverages (including non-alcoholic beer)
Sky lanterns or floating lanterns
Vehicle tires
Gift cards, gift certificates, and other stored-value instruments
Products with unauthorized marketing materials, such as pamphlets, price tags, or other non-Amazon stickers
Note: Amazon will not accept pre-priced labels or products.
Products that require preparation but that have not been prepped according to FBA packaging and prep requirements
Loose packaged batteries
Damaged or defective units
Note: Used condition products may have damage as long as the product is labeled with the appropriate condition.
Products with labels that were not properly registered with Amazon before shipment or that do not match the product that was registered
Products that do not comply with any agreement between Amazon and the seller
Products that have been illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured
Note: We reserve the right to deny removal requests for and to destroy any inventory identified as counterfeit.
Products that Amazon otherwise determines are unsuitable
Q:FBA Product Labels
A:When you decide to ship products to Amazon fulfillment centers, please follow these general requirements. Amazon may reject, return or repackage any products that are not adequately packaged or meet the requirements of Amazon product label policy, and you’ll be responsible for any additional charges from Amazon.
Amazon systems are barcode-driven. Each unit you send to a fulfillment center requires a barcode so that it can be tracked throughout the fulfillment process.
Make sure that the label can be scanned using an RF scanner.
If there are multiple barcodes present, make sure to cover those as well. The only scannable barcode should be the Amazon product label.
